  Who we are

The Millcreek Community Church has it’s roots in four United Methodist churches from the Youngstown area-  Centenary, Lockwood, Mahoning and Richard Brown Memorial. Our goal is to develop a sustainable and thriving ministry in the Mahoning Valley  and invite new people to join Jesus in ministry. Our ministry is focused on becoming  a truly multi-ethnic, multi generational and multi-economic body of believers fully committed to furthering the kingdom of Jesus Christ, worshiping without barriers.

Our mission statement:

In unity, the mission of the Millcreek Community UM Church

is to serve God, help those in need and  live by faith and love.

  Leadership Team

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are called to serve and be servants of Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip people for ministry in the Wesleyan tradition of maturity and Christian perfection in the fullness of Christ.

Pastor Greg Calko
Pastor Greg answered God’s call to be a bi-vocational minister in 2004 and has a passion for  expository teaching from the Bible. He left his secular job in 2018 to serve the Lord full time. He is dedicated to bringing people together for Jesus and eliminating the things that divide.  He and his wife Tami  have been married for 34 years and have two grown children.

Music Team

We have a talented group of people who love to lift their voices and help lead us in worship. On any given Sunday you will enjoy a wide variety of music from  many genres, times and cultures.
Music Director/Worship Leader
We are excited and blessed to welcome Timothy Mattern to our Millcreek family. Timothy has a deep love for Jesus, and brings a passion for music, a wealth of knowledge, 25 years of experience, and a heart for ministry thru teamwork.
Brooke Stull-Scott,
Office Manager
Brooke holds a degree in Business Computer Applications and has been in the United Methodist Church family for  years as an Office Manager.  She really enjoys helping people and is known for being a detail-oriented, well organized team player.  She resides in Boardman with her husband and children.
                worship without barriers……..
What is worship without barriers? The folks at Millcreek are working hard to remove those things that keep people from connecting with God and with each other. Things like stairs and bathrooms that prevent people with physical disabilities from enjoying our building. Things like looking at outside appearance –one’s clothing or skin color for example- instead of looking for the soul of a beautiful person God has placed on this earth for a divine purpose. Things like disagreements over what kind of music we should sing together in worship or which translation of the Bible we should use.
We believe that solving the problems of the world begins in our own communities by learning to worship together. We also believe that genuine peace can be achieved if we make every effort to pursue a perfect relationship with God and each other. We invite you to join us as we seek to change our world for the better one disciple at a time.

Love By

Our God is a God of abundance and He loves to give. He sacrificed willingly on the cross and then invited us into fullness of life. As His children, we are called to imitate Him. Our generosity in giving is a demonstration of God’s character and a response to what He has done for us.

Where Can I Serve? Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as serving as liturgist, to preparing the church bulletins.
Mission Outreach Millcreek is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in supporting missionaries with our money and with our prayers.  We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it is  in our own community or far beyond. One way in which we do that is by providing a free dinner on the 3rd Saturday of every other month from 4:30 pm – 6 pm. (Jan., March, May, July, Sept, Nov). A special Thanksgiving feast is prepared in November.  We have grown much since this outreach began in January of 2010 and we  typically serve anywhere from 85 to 185 people from our neighborhood. We provide these meals  so that people have a place to gather not only for food, but also for fellowship and spiritual growth. All are welcome. In the month of December, we also participate in Christmas caroling to our shut ins.

Media & Technology Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of the weekly sermons are uploaded to our website. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.
Music & Drama
God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music and drama ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in drama. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
Prayer Team

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to discerning God’s will. Each Sunday, before the morning service, a team of volunteers is praying for the ministry of the Word. Throughout the week, volunteers from our Prayer Warriors team pray for their pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Throughout the week at 10:00AM and 10:00PM, we take a few moments wherever we are for a special time of prayer and Bible study.

Get Connected!!

How Do I Meet People? Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at this church. Small Groups s Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has small Bible studies held in various places.

Women’s Group
Women’s groups give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, located in several locations throughout our community, are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.
Men’s Group
Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Accountability is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages.  Accountability groups meet together as their schedules allow and keep in touch by email or phone.
Over 50’s Once you get past fifty, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, Millcreek provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction.  God uses people of all ages to bring glory to his Kingdom so get connected and enjoy the blessing and fellowship with folks that love the Lord.
Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in their own class. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. The youth ministry of our church is recognized for their meaningful interaction with kids.
You need not be a member of our church to be married in our sanctuary.  We respect the sanctity of marriage and God’s design for union of husband and wife  and offer the necessary pastoral guidance  and support for those couples desiring marriage. Please contact the church for more information.
